Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 415°F (213°C).
  2. Prepare the Meats: Cook the Italian sausage and bacon in a skillet until they’re just cooked through. Remove the meats from the skillet and set them aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess fat.
  3. Soften the Vegetables: In the same skillet, using the residual fat from the meats, sauté the sliced onion and green bell pepper just until they start to soften. This should take about 3-5 minutes. You don’t want them fully cooked as they will continue to cook in the oven.
  4. Prepare the French Bread: Slice the loaf of French bread in half lengthwise. If desired, you can scoop out some of the bread from the center to create more space for your toppings.
  5. Apply the Sauce: Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the cut sides of the French bread. You can adjust the amount of sauce to your liking.
  6. Add the Toppings: Start with a layer of mozzarella cheese on the sauce. Then, evenly distribute the cooked Italian sausage, bacon, and pepperoni over the cheese. Add the softened onions and green bell peppers on top.
  7. More Cheese: Sprinkle another layer of mozzarella cheese over the toppings. This helps to bind all the ingredients together and adds extra cheesy goodness.
  8. Bake: Place the prepared French bread pizzas on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-13 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are crispy.
  9. Serve: Allow the pizzas to cool for a couple of minutes before slicing them into manageable pieces. Serve hot with extra pizza sauce for dipping if desired.

– Bread Selection: Make sure to use a fresh loaf of French bread for the best results. The crust will provide a satisfying crunch that’s similar to traditional pizza crust.

– Customization: Feel free to add or substitute toppings based on your preferences or what you have on hand. This recipe is very versatile and can be adapted to suit any taste.

– Dipping Sauce: Extra pizza sauce makes a great dipping sauce. Warm it up and serve it on the side for an added flavor boost.
