- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F)
- Grease a round cake pan
- In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients together: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, Christmas spices, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, and salt
- Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients, mixing well after each addition
- Add the oil (or melted butter) and honey, mixing until you obtain a homogeneous batter that is neither too liquid nor too compact
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan
- Bake for 35-40 minutes
- Test for doneness by inserting a knife into the center – if it comes out clean, the cake is ready
- Let cool before serving
