  1. Roughly chop the chocolate and cut the butter into cubes Place in a bowl and melt together using either a double boiler or in the microwave on low power Mix until smooth
  2. Add the ground almonds to the chocolate mixture and mix well
  3. In a separate bowl whisk the whole eggs with the sugar until pale and creamy
  4. Incorporate the chocolate almond mixture into the egg mixture Mix until well combined
  5. Roll out the puff pastry and cut two circles of equal size approximately 24cm in diameter
  6. Place one circle on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  7. Spread the chocolate almond filling in the center leaving a 2cm border Hide the charm if using
  8. Brush the border with water and cover with the second pastry circle Press edges firmly to seal
  9. Create a decorative pattern on top with a knife being careful not to cut through the pastry
  10. Brush the entire surface with beaten egg yolk
  11. Refrigerate for 30 minutes
  12. Preheat oven to 180C 350F
  13. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown
  14. Allow to cool slightly before serving
