Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Pulse a few times to mix.
  2. Add cold diced butter and pulse until coarse crumbs form with some pea-sized pieces. Do not overmix.
  3. Add 7 Tbsp ice water and pulse just until moist clumps form. Test if dough holds together between your fingertips. If not, add more water, 1 tsp at a time.
  4. Transfer dough to a clean surface and gather into a ball (do not knead). Divide in half and flatten into 2 disks.
  5. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out one disk of dough and place in a pie dish. Fill with cherry pie filling.
  8. Roll out the second disk for the top crust. Cut out eyes and use extra dough to mold a nose and lips to create a face design.
  9. Place the top crust over the filling, seal edges, and cut vents.
  10. Bake for approximately 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool before serving.
