  1. In a small pot, heat water and sugar until just simmering. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add saffron threads, stirring to wet them completely.
  3. Simmer on low heat for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit for 20-30 minutes to further infuse.
  5. Strain the syrup and store in an airtight container.
  6. Refrigerate for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 6 months.
