- Add the diced apples, cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the pan. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and caramelized. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Toast the bread slice until golden and crispy, or if using a tart base, bake according to instructions until lightly browned around the edges.
- In a small bowl, mix the Skyr yogurt with the remaining honey/maple syrup and vanilla extract if using.
- Spread the Skyr mixture generously over the toasted bread or tart base.
- Spoon the cooked apples evenly over the Skyr layer.
- Sprinkle the dark chocolate chips and chopped pistachios over the top.
- For extra presentation points, you can lightly toast the assembled toast under a broiler for 30 seconds to slightly melt the chocolate, but be careful not to burn the nuts.
- Serve immediately while still warm for the best experience.
